What are Australian Greys?
Our members breed traditional Murray Grey and Square Meaters cattle – collectively Australian Greys. They market both cattle and the premium beef products under the trademark Australian Grey.
Our members share common aims with respect to breeding, animal husbandry and care for the land. We represent both stud and commercial breeders.
We chose to breed traditional Murray Grey and Square Meaters cattle because of the moderate frame, placid temperament and sustainable fit with the temperate zones of Australia.
Characteristics of our cattle
Traditional Murray Greys and Square Meaters. They are Australian breeds ideally suited to the temperate zones of Australia. They are a moderate frame and have a low impact on the landscape and are more easily maintained in harder climatic times.
